Transfer In A Domain

We are able to transfer in domains from any hosting company to GoDaddy. To start this process first you need to click on the “My Account” in the top left of the screen next to the GoDaddy logo. A dropdown menu will populate and select “Domains.” Refer to the below screenshot.

Once you are on the domain page, you will be able to see all of your domains listed alphabetically. In the top left of the screen you will click on “Domains” and a dropdown menu will appear. Select “Transfers” from the dropdown menu. Refer to the screenshot below.

This will take you to the “Transfers” page. Select “New Transfer” to get this process initiated.

This will take you to the “Transfers domains to GoDaddy” page. You will need to place the domain you want transferred as well as the authorization code into the text box. You will need to make sure the domain has been unlocked from the previous hosting site and an authorization code has been given to you. You will NOT be able to transfer the domain without an authorization code. The authorization code will come from the previous hosting site. Once you enter the the request for domain transfer, it can take 3-5 days for that domain to fully transfer. To check the status of the transfer, click on the “Domains” tab at the top left then select “Pending Account Changes.”
